Unit 10 - production log

We were tasked with...We began by coming up with our own ideas, mine were as written bellow.. Freddie and i decided to work together on this project, aiming to produce our own edits at the end of the assignment. We discussed how we could combine things we had thought of using the ideas we started to develop in the previous weeks. Final idea -  It is Halloween, three students are in detention. The teacher goes to his office to collect some paperwork, whilst he’s gone things start of move and fall. This sparks a conversation amongst the students about whether there is a ghost that haunts the college. They decide to leave the class whilst the teacher is gone, they go down to the basement. Adam is sure that ghosts could never be real, contrastingly Natalie is petrified to the point she believes the ghost will take her soul. They are sat around, nothing happens. Storyboarding - Production log 03-10-2019 Today we were given the brief, we have been tasked with creating three media products’ storyboards. We will have to pitch our ideas and develop the two best received ones. My ideas were as follows – ·          TV show – The show will tell the same story as the film except it will go into why the ghost has chosen to haunt the college, and why he has chosen the three students to haunt. The ghost is haunting the college because his daughter died at the college and he has chosen these students because they have all done something wrong but the ghost feels they have the potential to be good people and he wants to help them. ·          Video game – three characters are chasing their colleges resident ghost around. Learning aims -  A - Understand codes and conventions of fictional film production  B-  Produce material for a fictional film of a specified genre  C - Apply post-production techniques to a fictional film utilising codes and conventions of a specified genre.  Narrative structures - Linear narrative structures is a narrative that runs from start to finnish in chronological order. They do not include any flashbacks or flash forwards, they are not broken up in anyway. Popular examples of non - linear narratives include soap operas such as corronation street or Eastenders.  Non - linear narrative structures depict events in a random order, often using flashbacks or flash forwards as a narrative development tool. This gives the director more freedom about how they want the viewer to view the narrative. This also allows the director to incatate how characters are percieved.
